Integrate Sitefinity Into Your Technology Stack
If your website needs to integrate into other platforms either to send data to a CRM or receive content from other sources, then Sitefinity is a great fit for you.
We are constantly asked if Sitefinity can integrate a particular platform or web technology. The answer is always yes, as Sitefinity is built with these requirements in mind. Likewise, you can use any web development framework such as Angular or Bootstrap.
Server Side Technology: Whatever .NET Can Do, So Can Sitefinity
Sitefinity is a .NET application like any other, and you have the full capability of using .NET to develop server-side code to connect to any platform that you need.
For many people it can be hard to understand where Sitefinity ends and .NET begins. They are so tightly integrated that there really is no dividing line.
Sitefinity allows you to create MVC controls or Web API endpoints. These controls and endpoints can live within Sitefinity's .NET project and you can add .NET code as you like.
Connecting to REST APIs and WCF
If you are looking to send or receive data to any other website that uses REST APIs, then the connection is relatively easy. We use standard .NET libraries to connect to a REST API to send and receive data.
This type of developing does not require much Sitefinity knowledge, other than possibly registering a control within Sitefinity.
This is very similiar to using Windows Communication Foundation (WCF)
Integrating with Salesforce, HubSpot, and Other CRMs
Many of our clients are looking to send contact us form requests to their company's CRM. We have connected Sitefinity Form Builder to Salesforce and HubSpot multiple times.
Note that as of Sitefinity 11.2, there is a new out-of-the-box HubSpot Connector for Sitefinity. More info can be found here on Progress's website.
