Every CEO I speak with is saying the same thing-it's strange out there. It's harder to get B2B work than ever before, and when you do get it, it's hard to find employees to do the work.
It's probably why we see such a continued demand for custom software development.
In the past, large firms might want to automateĀ processes to reduce headcount. In today's economy, we're seeing employers trying to automate tasks because they can't find anyone to do them.
The article also explains that middle-skill jobs are going away, and there's a glut of middle-skill unemployed out there.
It's the middle-skill positions that are easier to automate, so I don't see much change in the near future for this group of people.
