Another gotcha with Quickbooks 2011 - When emailing invoices, Quickbooks uses a mail program locally on your PC. Previously, in Quickbooks 2010, it would connect to a Quickbooks service through the web and send the emails out that way. In the old way, before you sent the email out, a screen came up and let you edit the email fields and message. The nice thing about this was that if you changed any of the email To: and Cc: fields, you had the option to save these preferences and the next time Quickbooks would send an email for that customer ...

With so many millions of companies using Quickbooks we certainly run in to our fair share of Quickbooks complaints from our customers. The new Quickbooks 2011 program has produced more than an average number of complaints. I have upgraded Quickbooks from all the way back from 1997, and buying a new copy every couple of years. Usually not because I need more functionality, but Quickbooks finds some way to make me upgrade. Which makes some of the 2011 changes even more frustrating, because I didn't want to upgrade anyway. I find that many small business owners pay bills and send invoices every month, but they may not balance Quickbooks entirely until the end of the year. I have been guilty of this a few times. One of the processes of balancing Quickbooks and preparing for taxes is entering all of the credit card statements. All major credit cards have the option to download charges into Quickbooks (always make sure to download Quickbooks format and not Quicken).
